Private boat tours

The boat, the skipper and the guide to yourselves. Up to 6 guests, swimming with the seals, watching them, or a mix of both.

Your group, your pace

A private tour is the same trip to the Robberg colony, without sharing the boat. It suits families with small children, mixed groups of swimmers and non-swimmers, and anyone marking an occasion.

  • Exclusive use of the boat for up to 6 guests
  • Swim with the seals for about 30 minutes, or stay aboard and watch
  • Wetsuits in all sizes, masks and fins for everyone getting in
  • A qualified guide in the water and photos of the trip
  • Leaves from the Central Beach car park, like every trip

Bigger groups

Schools, clubs, weddings and work outings: we make special arrangements for big groups. In season we carry up to 24 guests per departure.

Tell us the date, the number of people and how many want to swim, and we will come back with a plan and a price.

Good to know

Can we book the boat for our own group?

Yes. A private boat tour takes up to 6 guests, swimming or viewing. For bigger groups, schools and functions we make special arrangements: contact the office.

How long does the trip take?

About 1.5 hours from launch to landing, with up to 30 minutes in the water with the seals.

What should I bring?

A swimsuit to wear under your wetsuit, your own towel and something warm for afterwards. We supply the wetsuit, mask, snorkel and fins. For Seal Viewing, bring a windbreaker and a camera.

How old do children need to be?

The swim suits children from 6 years. Our smallest wetsuits fit children of about 4, so if you have a confident younger swimmer, talk to us first. Seal Viewing is open from 2 years.

What if the weather is bad?

Not to worry. We go out in most weather, even rain. The only time we cancel is for a strong east wind or east swell. We let booked guests know in advance, and if we can't reschedule you, we refund you in full.

What is your cancellation policy?

If we cancel because of unsafe sea or weather conditions, you get a full refund. Changes need 24 to 48 hours' notice by email. A no-show is charged in full. If conditions turn unsafe for swimming after launch, the trip is refunded down to the viewing rate. The full terms are on the terms and conditions page.

Take the whole boat

Private tours run every day, subject to weather and availability. Book online, or message us to plan something particular.
